LA synth-punk trio Automatic is back, charging forward with the hypnotic new single “Is It Now?”—the title track from their upcoming album, due this fall on Stones Throw Records.

After captivating fans with their minimalist, bass-driven sound on Signal and Excess, the band pushes further into “deviant pop” territory on Is It Now?, working with producer Loren Humphrey (Arctic Monkeys, Nice As Fuck) to sharpen their edge. The result is more daring, more danceable—and more personal.

“Is It Now?” pulses with existential urgency, pairing robotic grooves with lyrical reflections on rebellion, joy, and survival in a chaotic world. Vocalist Izzy Glaudini puts it bluntly: “How do you still find joy when the world’s collapsing?”

Following a break where each member explored solo pursuits—from producing to botany to rural life—the band is reunited, reenergized, and ready to hit the road. Catch them this September and October on their co-headline tour with Sextile across North America.
