On Shapeshifter, Triptides deliver their most immersive trip yet—a lush, sun-soaked swirl of psych-pop that sounds like a dream slowly blooming in reverse. Out now digitally via Label 51 Recordings (with LP/CD arriving July 25), the album is a kaleidoscopic journey guided by frontman Glenn Brigman’s signature blend of hypnotic grooves, hazy organs, and vintage coastal warmth.

Each track drips with golden-hour nostalgia: airy vocals, Farfisa textures, and glistening guitars converge into a soundscape that feels both intimate and infinite. Lead single and title track “Shapeshifter” explores the strange ways people transform in relationships, wrapped in soft harmonies and cosmic melancholy.

Crafted in Brigman’s San Bernardino mountain studio, much of the album was recorded solo—layer by layer, instinctively and meditatively—giving Shapeshifter a uniquely fluid, dreamlike feel. The result? A blissed-out, keyboard-heavy odyssey that invites you to float away for 40 perfect minutes.

It’s a bold step forward, yet unmistakably Triptides: warm, woozy, and irresistibly transportive.
