🎧 Late Again Announces New EP Clearly It’s All Staged, Shares New Single “Easy On Myself”

New York-based artist Late Again (Rafael Melo) returns with his boldest work yet: the upcoming EP Clearly It’s All Staged, out September 2. Blending dream pop, lo-fi, indie, and electronic textures with introspective, subtly ironic lyricism, the six-track release dives into rejection, identity, and the art of letting go—with a wink.
📦 Pre-save / Pre-order the EP:
Leading the charge is the stunning new single “Easy On Myself”, a jazz-tinged, feel-good anthem about burnout, self-care, and, yes, quitting your job. The song opens with a real Zoom voice memo from Rafael’s last day at work—and ironically, the video was filmed the very same day.

Co-produced by Heal Mura and featuring contributions from Ella Walton, Nathan Dies, and Jared Yee, the EP builds on Late Again’s dreamy sonic world, weaving Brazilian roots with sharp wit and emotional nuance.
The music video—directed with visual artist Rollinos (Toro y Moi, Remi Wolf)—takes viewers on a surreal green-screen bike ride through psychedelic ‘90s landscapes, echoing the song’s message: go easy on yourself and keep pedaling.
