Big Thief have done it again. Hot off the release of their spellbinding sixth album Double Infinity (out now via 4AD), the band share the video for “Words” — their first non-live performance clip since 2017’s “Mythological Beauty.” Directed by Adrianne Lenker’s brother, Noah, the video is a surreal, playful meditation on language, connection, and cosmic possibility, perfectly capturing the track’s “searching, propulsive” spirit (The Independent).
The album itself has been met with glowing reviews: Rolling Stone hails it as “one of the best bands in indie rock traveling wide-open inner spaces,” while Uncut praises its “uplifting and open-hearted” nature. Recorded live at New York’s Power Station with a community of collaborators, Double Infinity feels expansive yet deeply intimate, a collection of gauzy soundscapes and raw performances that affirm Big Thief’s unique place in modern indie rock.
The release also kicks off the band’s Somersault Slide 360 Tour, which launches next week and includes major stops like Berkeley’s Greek Theatre, LA’s Hollywood Bowl, New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, and their first-ever Mexico City show. In 2026, they’ll cross the Atlantic for their biggest European dates yet, including a three-night residency at London’s O2 Brixton Academy.
