Cleveland alt/psych-pop duo Radderall (Zach Taneyhill) and Muzzy Fossa (Nathan Hunt) continue to expand their surreal, analog-tinged universe with “Lana Lane,” the latest single off their forthcoming collaborative concept album The Club Is Open (out October 31 via Wax Mage Records).

The track—named after the street Muzzy grew up on—pairs dreamy nostalgia with existential reflection. “Only a breath away from Lana Lane, you’re only a step away from yesterday,” sings Radderall, a lyric that captures the record’s theme of duality: innocence versus mortality, fleeting pleasures versus deeper meaning. Positioned near the end of the LP, “Lana Lane” serves as a poignant step before the characters of the album find their roots in closing track “Planted.”

Sonically, “Lana Lane” drapes early-2000s R&B textures over hazy psych-pop synths, with a tropical lilt that makes its meditative core feel strangely buoyant. It’s both comforting and eerie, a reminder that memory and imagination often blur.

The full album is a conceptual journey following two characters seeking a mythical venue—the “Club”—while navigating short-term dopamine (ego, vanity, fleeting love) versus lasting fulfillment (real love, friendship, connection). Across its surreal synthscapes, theatrical storytelling, and vintage textures, the record frames themes of resurrection, transformation, and renewal.

Tracks like “Movies,” “Every Minute,” and “Baseball” show the duo’s fascination with lo-fi experimentation, drum programming, and analog warmth. Meanwhile, “Planted” closes the record with a lush meditation on self-love and grounding, tying the concept together with tenderness.

Radderall & Muzzy Fossa’s collaboration under the R.A.M. moniker isn’t just about music—it’s world-building. “It’s a place we built so we could get lost and maybe find a little meaning in the process,” says Taneyhill.

With The Club Is Open, the duo position themselves as two of the Midwest’s most adventurous voices, blending irony and sincerity into something strange, immersive, and deeply human.
