You like your punk with great harmonies, guitar and bass riffs divine, and a back-beat that reminds you of Nick Knox and never stops?  Meet Fruit & Flowers, one of the saviors of punk rock, real punk rock, the Ramones and the Damned and X-Ray Spex punk rock.  These guys are the real deal.  Super active in the NYC area, Fruit & Flowers is Caroline Yoder, bass and charismatic vocals,  Ana Becker’s angular, expressive guitar style, and Lyzi Wakefield’s gritty rhythmic backbone merge a post-punk heaviness with psychedelic warmth, surrounded by distinct, warm and refreshing three part harmonies, the bedrock of Fruit and Flowers‘ sound.  Adding Jose Berrio (drummer-cum-art director), the band has rounded out this sound.  If you’ve ever heard stripped down Go-Go’s, Fruit & Flowers is like that, with better vocals and even punker.  I love this band.  This is true punk.  Thank Calliope, the Muse of Music, for bringing this group to life.  Come visit Pittsburgh; we need you.
