Slow Pulp have that dream pop sound which lures you into a relaxing state, and then, out of nowhere, they turn up the volume and keep it going. This is a great band. Based in Chicago by way of Wisconsin, Slow Pulp is comprised of Teddy Mathews (drums), Emily Massey (guitar / vocals), Henry Stoehr (guitar), and Alex Leeds (bass). This is one of my favorite new bands. If you love dream pop that kicks, you will love Slow Pulp.
