Feeling invigorated by their newfound independence, the alternative pop band flor is set to release their next single, “Nosedive,” on April 19. The song, which originated from a period of low self-esteem, unfolds like a sleepless night spent gazing at the ceiling. This simpler track from the Oregon-based band features sincere lyrics and a gradual buildup in its melody. Vocalist Zach Grace explained, “I aimed to directly confront the terrible feelings I was experiencing without any evasion, which is unusual for my songwriting. It’s a song about those moments when you feel at your lowest, and it seems like everyone has abandoned you just as you have abandoned yourself. It’s a poignant song that delves into the intrusive thoughts that amplify feelings of worthlessness.”

Recently, flor has embraced releasing music purely for the enjoyment of it. They appeared in the first episode of Live Nation’s new video series “Something Loud,” filmed in Los Angeles. During the show, they performed “Every Night,” “Warm Blood Pt 2,” “No More Time,” and “Gotta Do Something,” demonstrating their interpretation of what it means to be “loud.” Check out their interview and live performance below:
