Yves Jarvis’ “Gold Filigree” Is a Cosmic Love Anthem

Yves Jarvis—the alias of Canadian artist Jean-Sébastien Yves Audet—delivers magic yet again with the release of his second single, “Gold Filigree,” from an upcoming album set to drop in early 2025 via In Real Life. This warm, mid-tempo track feels like sipping a hot drink on a chilly day or savoring a quiet drag from a cigarette. In just under four minutes, Jarvis weaves a world that is both intimate and vibrant, offering listeners a self-contained piece of sonic poetry.

Yves describes the song as “romance and sensuality unmasking vulnerabilities necessary to love and be loved.” Fans of “fornication, love-making, procreation, steak frites, Prince, Al Green, and Charlotte Day Wilson” should find themselves at home here.

Recorded entirely solo—Jarvis played every part himself, “Not even one!” additional contributor was involved—“Gold Filigree” is a testament to his unique artistry. The track builds on his three-time-Polaris-longlisted career with a fresh perspective. Shifting from his prior sculptural approach to composition, this time Jarvis embraced a “band mentality,” articulating each part with clarity and precision.

“This isn’t about telling my story, fitting in, or chasing some goal,” Yves explains. “It’s about expressing something I’ve learned, some information I’ve received.” The result is music that feels both deeply human and divinely inspired—a love song that vibrates with cosmic anthropology.

If this track is any indication of what’s to come in 2025, we’re in for something truly special.
