Midlake Share New Single “Days Gone By” + Announce New Album A Bridge To Far

Midlake return with Days Gone By, a meditative single that sets the stage for their sixth studio album A Bridge To Far (out November 7 via Midlake Records/Believe). The song feels like a slow exhale—an embrace of nature’s rhythms even while wrestling with inner turmoil.

Built on patient layers of instrumentation and frontman Eric Pulido’s hushed vocals, “Days Gone By” drifts between melancholy and transcendence. Its companion video, directed by Taylor McFadden and starring Emmy-nominated actor James Lance (Ted Lasso, Black Mirror), translates that duality into movement. Choreographed by Phil Colgan (Hamilton), the visual captures one man’s journey from quiet contemplation to joyous release, all under golden-hour light. It’s spellbinding and deeply human.

The album, produced by Sam Evian (Big Thief, Cass McCombs), promises a wide emotional and sonic palette. Early single “The Ghouls” hinted at Midlake’s psych-folk roots with a ghostly groove, while “Days Gone By” leans into intimacy and reflection. Across the record, guest vocals from Madison Cunningham, Hannah Cohen, and Meg Lui add warmth and texture, while brass flourishes and warped guitars expand the band’s palette.

A Bridge To Far isn’t just another chapter—it’s a redefinition. After two decades together, Midlake sound renewed, weaving themes of persistence, humility, and creative rebirth into an album that lingers long after it ends.
