Waterparks are back and louder than ever. Fresh off their anthemic first single of 2025, “RED GUITAR,” the Houston trio return with their newest track, “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL,” a blistering confessional cut that fuses brutal honesty with unstoppable energy. Out now via BMG, the track is accompanied by a must-watch visual that highlights just how far the band is pushing their genre-bending vision. Listen here.
The single has already caught fire in the press. Kerrang! calls it “brutally honest – but, as always, incredibly entertaining,” while Rock Sound describes it as “a scorching 90’s hip-hop inspired track taking aim at toxic fandom.” Frontman Awsten Knight puts it best: “The premise is exactly what it sounds like — things I’d get into if I didn’t think anyone would ever hear the song. It’s how you get yourself to talk about the most personal and uncomfortable things.” That candidness pulses through every second, touching on themes that could each stand as their own song but together create something electric.
This release builds on the massive success of their 2023 album Intellectual Property, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Alternative Album Chart in the US and climbed into the Top 10 in both the US and UK. That momentum has carried Waterparks to sold-out shows worldwide, including LA’s Palladium and NYC’s Terminal 5 in 2024, and now straight into this month’s sold-out gigs in Southern California, Chicago, and New York City.
The momentum doesn’t stop there. The band just announced a headline tour for fall 2025 kicking off November 6 in San Antonio, with an incredible roster of support from iDKHOW, WesGhost, Chloe Moriondo, Heart Attack Man, Foxy Shazam, and Plain White T’s. Tickets & VIP packages are available now. Fans can also relive their explosive Reading Festival 2025 main stage performance of “RED GUITAR” here.
Made up of Awsten Knight (vocals, guitar), Otto Wood (drums), and Geoff Wigington (guitar), Waterparks are firmly planting their flag as one of the most exciting bands of tomorrow. Their cover appearances on V Man, Kerrang!, and Alternative Press prove their pop-culture pull, while their new deal with BMG and management under Range Media Partners show that this is just the beginning.
