After captivating listeners with their enigmatic self-titled debut earlier this year, Disiniblud—the collaborative project of Los Angeles-based experimentalists Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith—have announced their Remixes EP, arriving December 5 via Smugglers Way / Domino. Expanding the sonic world they built on their debut, this remix collection invites a formidable roster of contributors, including Kelly Moran, Deafheaven’s Kerry McCoy, Baths, The Field, Daedelus, and Cis Angel (Keith’s ambient alias).
The first taste comes with Kelly Moran’s luminous reimagining of “Blue Rags, Raging Wind,” where glassy piano textures melt into glitchy vocal fragments and oceanic ambience. Moran’s deft production stretches Disiniblud’s dense emotional palette into something serene and subaquatic, before erupting into propulsive, transcendent chaos. It’s a remix that honors the original’s intensity while uncovering new emotional terrain.
Moran explains:
“I wanted the track to feel like it’s sinking into an oceanic abyss of ambience before transmuting into pulsating, beautiful chaos. There are so many rich textures in Disiniblud’s music—this was about letting them breathe.”
The duo have also shared a live version and video of “Traces in the Window,” filmed during their recent New York City show. The performance captures the raw synergy that has defined their North American tour, blending improvisation with the hypnotic precision of their recorded work.
As their debut continues to earn acclaim—hailed by Pitchfork for its “balance between divergent styles” and NPR Music as “one of the year’s most transcendent under-the-radar albums”—this new EP reaffirms Disiniblud’s position at the forefront of modern experimental music. It’s not just a remix collection; it’s a reimagining of the emotional universe they’ve built, one that feels both infinite and deeply human.
