(November 4, 2025) — Brooklyn darkwave-pop artist Rare DM (aka Erin Hoagg) has released her stunning new single “325,” a sleek, analog-laced homage to the thrill of driving, desire, and self-liberation. Out today alongside a neon-drenched video directed by Keith Ferreira, the track showcases Hoagg’s signature blend of shadowy synth textures, sensual vocals, and cinematic production — a fusion that places her at the vanguard of modern electro-pop.

The Sound: Vintage Machines, Modern Pulse

“Few cars are more alluring than a vintage BMW,” the artist explains — and that iconic aesthetic powers “325.”

The track hums with analog warmth, pairing minimal techno percussion and EBM-inspired basslines with Hoagg’s velvety talk-singing, capturing the freedom of a midnight drive on Europe’s autobahn.

“Living in NYC without a car, I don’t get to drive much,” Hoagg shares. “This song came from a European tour where I drove a manual for over 30 hours. It turned into this sexy fantasy of speed, solitude, and connection — a love letter to motion.”

Produced, written, and performed entirely by Hoagg, “325” glides effortlessly between intimacy and propulsion — a techno daydream fueled by nostalgia and adrenaline.

The Video: Neon, Nostalgia, and the BMW E30 Dream

The video for “325” — directed by Keith Ferreira and color-graded by legendary Jamie O’Bradovich (Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.”, Beyoncé’s “Lemonade”) — is a masterclass in style, sensuality, and saturated color.

Featuring Ferreira’s own vintage BMW E30, the exact model Hoagg’s father taught her to drive on, the video is both a personal ode and a fever dream.

“It’s inspired by that European tour — reimagined as a getaway with a sweetheart,” says Hoagg. “The red E30 is my dream car, and editing this video myself (478 cuts and 85 hours later!) was a labor of love. Jaime O’Bradovich’s color work made it come alive — it’s everything I envisioned: colorful, surreal, and alive.”

With its pulsing lights and cinematic flair, the “325” video is pure synth-pop seduction — the kind that turns night drives into mythology.

The Artist: Rare DM’s Sonic Identity

Rare DM is the creative moniker of Erin Hoagg, a singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who’s built a cult following for her DAW-less live sets and vintage analog sound. Armed with classic drum machines and synthesizers, she merges darkwave, electroclash, post-punk, and minimal techno into something intimate yet otherworldly.

Her viral single “send nudes” first catapulted her into underground fame, followed by acclaimed performances across North America, Europe, and Mexico alongside Molchat Doma, Mareux, Model/Actriz, and Drab Majesty.

Festival appearances include Coldwaves, SXSW, Verboden, Substance LA, Flesh & Steel NYC, and Grauzone (The Hague) — with her most recent stop at Black Factory in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she performed amid the pulse of resilience and art.

“Rare DM’s music often feels like the perfect soundtrack for the late-night, neon-lit cityscape — part eerie, part dance-floor-ready.” — Stereogum

“She blends raw emotional vulnerability with sharp, clever production that sets her apart.” — PAPER
