Jody Shelton and Mighty Kate, long darlings of the New York indie scene, started to make music together in 2008. Both are products of the musical theatre world, which is quite evident in the first single, “Daughter & Son”. This beautiful folkish song has a definite 60’s sound, but it also has that contemporary sound. The combination makes this song very unique. The interplay of vocals is perfect. With just minimal background music, the vocals stand out beautifully. This is a great summer, feel good song.
