Rashmi, from the NBC show, American Odyssey, shows here that she is an extremely talented singer/songwriter. “Make Believe” is a wonderful song. Rashmi reminds me of Petula Clark or Lulu from the 60’s who could sing of a broken heart and make it a game. Rashmi writes one of the wittiest songs ever. A comparison to “Only Make Believe” from Show Boat is necessary. While the singers in Show Boat actually fall in love, in Rashmi’s “Make Believe”, her partner is so good at make believe, it takes Rashmi awhile to realize that her partner is just playing the game, while to her it’s real. What a song. Rashmi is someone we will hear more about soon.
