With their Cure-like, dirge sound, EXNATIONS are the sound of this generation; mired in self-doubt and self-hatred, just like the 80’s. EXNATIONS, from Brooklyn, is comprised of Sal Mastrocola, Taylor Hughes, and John O’Neill. Although they consider themselves a ‘sad band’ (although I see this as realistic), they still have a ‘neon’ palate. As their bio says:
Hazy and dream-like, yet bursting with passion and energy, EXNATIONS is a fitting metaphor for the world in 2019. Yea it’s sad, but we’re still dancing.
And dancing we are.
