Divine Fits Perfect Combination Of Famous Rockers

What do you get when you combine the talents of Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and New Bomb Turks Sam Brown? A trio from heaven. This so-called ‘supergroup’ created one of the year’s best albums, A Thing Called Divine Fits, with their newly constructed group Divine Fits.

“Flaggin’ A Ride” starts off with a very Spoon Gimme Fiction feel to it with a splash of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga sung by Daniel. One of the album’s highlights is “Would That Not Be Nice” with Daniel singing once again with a bedrock of crunchy guitar, vocal fx, nervous synth and even a maraca. “The Salton Sea” sounds a bit like Spoon’s “The Ghost Of You Lingers” with a synth replace the broken-piano sound in Spoon’s song. Both Daniel and Boeckner sing on this track and add a somewhat haunting affect to this hypnotic track. “Baby Gets Worse” is craft-fully sung by Boeckner who adds that Wolf Parade sound to the band with Daniel backing it up with a little Spoon feel, definitely one of the better tracks on the album.

This is definitely a listen for all Spoon, Wolf Parade…hell all Alt Rock fans.
