ZABA, the CD by Glass Animals, is an exploration of adventures that combine Apocalypse Now, Island of Dr. Mureau, Heart of Darkness, and African Queen, all books/movies about the way humanity has interacted with and changed nature. “Gooey”, the first single, is a tribute to the naivete of childhood and the confidence that inspires. According to frontman, David Bayely, this work pays homage to those adventure books of his childhood. With a sound that combines Nina Simone with the Velvet Underground, it is time to forget adulthood and revel in the innocence and exuberance of childhood.
