It’s been a great year for A Great Big World and their debut EP hasn’t even been released yet!
You might recognize the song ‘Say Something,’ from it’s debut on FOX’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ reality competition, during a show-stopping performance by Amy Yakima (choreographed by Stacey Tookey); or most recently from the duo’s performance with Christina Aguilera on NBC’s ‘The Voice.’
Hailing from New York, A Great Big World (aka Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino), was started as a side project during their studies at NYU, and after a successful kickstarter EP campaign, were signed to Epic Records. After hearing the song, Aguilera felt such an emotional connection to it that she reached out to Ian and Chad in hopes of recording a version of her own with them. The results have seen a huge influx of support and critical acclaim from audiences everywhere.
“It is a healing and hopeful song and we simply cannot believe how many people this song has resonated with. It’s one of the greatest honors in the world to know that your art is making a positive impact. Even more so, it’s an incredible privilege to have the support of Christina. Collaborating with her is something we’ll both remember forever.”
