King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

“Nuclear Fusion”

Flying Microtonal Banana

King Gizzard is one of the strangest and greatest prog rock bands out there.  Totally out of their gourds, they often sound like early Mother of Inventions with real, complete songs.  Coming from Melbourne, Australia, King Gizzard is made up of  Stu Mackenzie (vocals, guitar, flute), Ambrose Kenny Smith (synths, harmonica), Cook Craig (guitar), Joey Walker (guitar), Lucas Skinner (bass), Eric Moore (drums), and Michael Cavanagh (drums).  They weave strange key changes and vocals and surprising melodic changes, yet they still are hummable, and the tunes stay if your head for a long time.  This is a band for parties, listening by yourself, and really freaking out the neighbors.  I miss great prog music.  Thank god King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is out there keeping it weird.
