She Makes War is a solo artist, very much multi-instrumentalist, who makes poignant, beautiful music. She Makes War is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Laura Kidd, who is based in Bristol, England. She Makes War’s music is largely characterized by layered guitars, ukeleles, autoharps, melodica, harp, keyboards, and saxophone alongside Kidd’s vocals which are reminiscent of Shirley Manson or maybe Sia. All I know, She Makes War is amazingly talented. I can’t same enough about her work. Kidd is a whizz (sorry, bad Mott the Hoople joke). She does have the writing technique of Ian Hunter, deeply personal and rich. Kidd’s music draws you into her own, deep self.
