BONZIE has this incredible, Kate Bush-like voice rising above beautiful, atmospheric wonder of music, like clouds on a calm summer day. Nina Ferraro, a 21-year-old singer/multi-instrumentalist who’s created under the moniker of BONZIE since age 18, is now based in Chicago where she creates moody music on her old stand-up piano. Ferraro says she’s had the piano forever, and “As The Surface Rose/Half Full” have the feel of music composed on ancient instruments thrown into today’s rumble and tumble, evoking pastoral times past and future, definitely a perfect escape from today.
