Gin Wigmore: A New Diva Has Emerged
New Zealand-based artist Gin Wigmore is going to draw lots of comparisons to Elle King but before you go there take a minute to watch her videos, listen to her lyrics, and read about this incredibly talented artist. Read more below.
Today, New Zealand artist Gin Wigmore premiered her official video for her latest single ‘Dirty Mercy,’ the first track and video from her highly anticipated forthcoming album due for release in 2017.
The video premiered today via Billboard Magazine and can be viewed here. “Dirty Mercy” is now available on all digital platforms.
Gin explains, “I made sure I came out swinging with this one. I had always wanted to write a song with this sort of energy. A little trashy, kinda pissed off, whilst still retaining my love for a solid melody. Dirty Mercy is a song that really represented where my head was at when I first began this venture into my next album.”
“Dirty Mercy” was written and recorded in LA and was co-written with Marc Orrell (Dropkick Murphys) and Steve Rusch (Blood To Bone, Metallica, Kendrick Lamar). As per her award winning third album “Blood to Bone”, which featured the stunning singles “Written In The Water” and “New Rush”, Gin once again stepped into the role of co-producer of her new release working with Grammy nominated producer/engineer Rusch.
The accompanying video was directed by New Zealand actor and director David de Lautour (Westside) with Gin writing the treatment. This is David’s first ever music video after being at the helm of various other web-series, short films and sketches.
