Adam Ostrar

“Spare Me”

Brawls In The Briar

Adam Ostrar has one of the voices that haunts you.  Even though he inhabits the world of the folk singers, his influences like Lou Reed and Robert Wyatt happen to sneak through.  Ostrar uses open-string tunings and guitar pickings to a wonderful degree, making the songs full without filling up with useless notes. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Ostrar moved to Chicago in 1999 where he remained until 2014. During this time period as primary songwriter he released four Manishevitz albums on Jagjaguwar. He later formed the band SONOI with fellow Manishevitz alumni Ryan Hembrey and drummer Pierce Doerr.  Now that he has gone solo, his music is so thick with longing and love.  Ostrar is one of those artists that you will remember a long time.  He is that good, he is that memorable.
