Jonas Alaska

“The Moon & The Steeple”

Fear Is A Demon

Norway-based Jonas Alaska has released a beautiful album that has its roots in both David Bowie and Karl Ove Knausgård, a beautiful and intense tribute.  Alaska has written some of the most heartbreaking lyrics in Norwegian pop music the last few years. And it is his ability to tell stories with his songwriting that has earned him a loyal fan base both in and outside of his homeland.  His voice is so delicate yet powerful enough to grab your attention.  Sometimes, he reminds me of Jose Gonzalez with his intimacy.  Alaska is not afraid to bare his soul, and he certainly not as cold as his name implies.  This is beautiful, sensitive music.  Listen to it and get lost in the man called Alaska.
