No Doubt Cancels Tour But Returns To Studio

No Doubt fans got good and bad news this week. The band announced on
their website they were canceling their 2013 tour and instead are going back to
the studio to record a follow up to “Push and Shove”. On the bands Facebook
it states: “We discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the
studio together. We did so in January and the new music started flowing with
unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this
new pace feels incredibly exciting,” the band said in a letter to fans. “We have
decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that
we don’t want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we
endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to
share this new music with you as quickly as possible … both recorded and live
on tour.”

I’m hope the new album will have more of their ska days, and not another
dance rock album. The only songs form their last release that actually had the
old No Doubt feel were “Push and Shove” and “Settle Down” the rest was a
Rock Steady part 2. I have been a huge No Doubt fan I grew up with the band
I hope this next studio session captures the old school No Doubt with more
tracks like “Settle Down” And “Push and Shove” and less pop dance tracks like
“Easy” and “One More Summer”.
