    Sons Of Apollo

    “Coming Home”

    Psychotic Symphony

Oftentimes, supergroups do not live up to their name (anyone really remember Asia?  I thought not.)  Sons Of Apollo, on the other hand, are actually a super supergroup.  Made up of Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Derek Sherinian, Jeff Scott Soto, and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Sons Of Apollo rock hard than any other progressive metal band out there.  Just listen to the vocal scream, the beginning keyboard rift, those great bass and guitar runs, and that heavy drumming propelling “Coming Home” to some heavy metal Olympus in worship of Apollo, the God of music.  This is a great band.  Produced by Portnoy and Sherinian (as “The Del Fuvio Brothers”), this album sounds so clean and awesome.  Of course, the members have played with everyone, so their expertise is not in doubt.  What makes Sons of Apollo so special is their innate chemistry and lack of ego most supergroups suffer from.  They are on tour in 2018.  Catch this show, you metalheads out there.
