The Shins bring on the spook-fest on their most recent single “Dead Alive.” The song is full of psychedelic waves of synths, and Mercer’s famous strumming guitar; Nothing crazy or new about the melody. It is pretty typical-lyrical but the psychedelic background gives it uniqueness.
The video is pretty chaotic with a plethora of green screen effects that include giants vs. miniature versions of everything else. Add some ghoulish effects and a skeleton at the end and you got the perfect creepy, non-sensical Shins video (by the way, we love it).
