Fuzzworthy? Yes, we give this an 8 out of 10
Lately it seems that old is new again. We’re surrounded by artists (Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, etc.) turning to the music styles of yesteryear in order to gain more listeners. Have we finally reached a climax? Theophilus London proves that “old” works in this song/video for “Rio.” The smooth, sultry vocals matched with the Menahan Street Band’s subtle horn section makes for a dreamy soul song that could only be described as Marvin Gaye meets Miles Davis.
FEELS: a nice cold cocktail on a hot beach in Rio of course
SOUNDS: Marvin Gaye meets Miles Davis
