The Vickers – the past reinterpreted to a near perfect future

     The Vickers

    “She’s Lost”

    Ghosts

The Vickers are a wonderful band from Florence that have just released their new CD, Ghosts.  Their single, “She’s Lost”, is a perfect example on the combination of late 60’s/early 70’s psychedelia with the punch of the best of the 90’s, a kaleidoscope of sound.  The sound is like Small Faces met the Breeders or the Verve.  It is hard to describe.  The Vickers need to be heard to be appreciated.  The guitar sound is so perfect, flying over the steady bass/drum beat with vocals sounding trippy and potent.  Maybe a new category of music needs to be created to cover the Vickers:  Psyche-gaze.
