    “Dangerous Days”

    Taiga

“Dangerous Days” by Zola Jesus is one of those conundrums; that of a deep, beautiful song that is also danceable.  There is a lot of music going on here.  Nika, the 25-year-old sole singer and songwriter, has a beautiful voice that breaks through over the big beats and brass and the great, swirling keyboards.  According to Nika, “this is the most accessible music I’ve ever made.”  Accessible, yes; danceable, yes; beautiful, definitely; challenging, without a doubt.  This track is the best of all worlds; music for the ears and music for the feet.  Get out on the floor; listen in your room.  It’s up to you.  Anyway, you will love this song.
