    Of Monsters and Men

    “Organs”

    Beneath The Skin

The wait is over.  Of Monsters and Men not only have a new CD out, they are also on tour.  I am extremely excited about this.  Of Monsters and Men is one of my favorite bands of all time.  And to promote their CD and reach out to their fans, Of Monsters and Men have come up with one of the most amazing and crazy promos of all time.  They are asking fans submit videos of themselves singing to Of Monsters and Men songs.

On the contest, co-vocalist and guitarist Ragnar Þórhallsson says, “It’s been wonderful seeing all these different interpretations of our songs by actors and performers in our lyric video series, and it’s going to be incredible seeing fan interpretations. At our shows, you can see how passionate our fans are when they’re singing along. Sometimes when I look into the crowd, I see a person that knows the words so perfectly—it feels like they almost know the songs better than us!  We’re really excited about this project and to see what people come up with.”

This time around, the official video showcases co-vocalist and guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir front and center performing the song.  Hilmarsdóttir has this wonderful, pixieish innocence that just makes “Organs” a special song.  As I said, they are on tour now.  Show the band how well you know their music.  Watch them perform.  One of the very best bands out there.  In fact, Beneath The Skin might be my favorite CD so far this year (and it’s been a good year so far).
