Great Intro to 2018: No No Yeah Okay – “Make Believe”

    No No Yeah Okay

    “Make Believe”

Well, it’s time to welcome in the New Year, and I can’t think of a better way than the new single by No No Yeah Okay.  This crazy blend of electronics and dream pop works because nothing that you expect is achieved.  With a name like No No Yeah Okay, they make you think they are clueless hipsters.  DON’T LET THE NAME FOOL YOU.  These guys from Milwaukee (Mark Gage, Christopher Quasius, Colin Plant, Josh Paynter) know exactly what they’re doing, and that is setting the whole world of electronica/dream pop on its rear.  With muffled vocals over beautiful background electronics and beats, and a melody that is infectious, this band has everything going for it.  Also, they don’t look like they could pull off a great song like this (no insult: they look like lumberjacks rather than talented musicians).  If 2018 continues like No No Yeah Okay, we will be okay, yeah.
