    Moist feat. vocalist Maria Marcus

    “Traces”

    Lavine

From Söderhamn, Sweden, Moist is the solo moniker of producer, artist and remixer David Elfström Lilja. The new LP includes 10 tracks with vocals by Maria Marcus, a Swedish multi-platinum songwriter and music producer currently based in Palma, Spain. Together, the two have created songs that are extremely original with hints of Imogene Heap and Goldfrap, and surprisingly, Terri Nun’s Berlin.  All in all, this is New Wave for the new century.  Danceable, singable, yet not weak or wimpy, Moist knows exactly what production and which notes need to be in each place.  And the choice of Maria Marcus with her clear, highly beautifully pure voice, the lyrics and melody are never buried beneath the production.  Moist loves the human voice, and he has found a superb partner in Marcus.  This is the New New Wave.
