Politically Charged: Twilight Fields – “Demagogue”

    Twilight Fields

    “Demagogue”

Song From The Age Of Ruin

What a hard hitting song.  When we keep silent about the abuses of a demagogue, we become that demagogue, and we are just as guilty.  Twilight Fields is a tremendous singer/songwriter.  Twilight Fields is the plume de nom of Canadian Allister Thompson who has released one of the most politically charged songs since Dylan and Pete Seeger.  This one is up there with “Head Like A Hole” by Nine Inch Nails.  With a voice reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright, this soft spoken song says what we all need to be saying.  The whole album is brilliant.  I just wish all protest music would be so fun to listen to.  Thank you being anti-populist.  We need this.
