Los Angeles-based artist Model Child is back with TiLT, their second release of 2024, arriving November 22. This new EP follows the earlier release of Get There!, a full-length album on Pop Can Records, and the standalone single “Sports”, a hyperpop-inspired track drawing from the energy of the Olympics. The lead single from TiLT, “Cherish You”, is out now with a visualizer to match—bringing listeners into a sonic world where vulnerability meets intricate, experimental production.

In a statement about “Cherish You,” Danny Parker, the creative force behind Model Child, describes the song as “a raw, bruised confession” about holding onto small, meaningful moments amid life’s chaos. Parker’s falsetto weaves through waves of synth bass and lush strings, his repeated refrain, “I cherish you,” capturing the emotional gravity of everyday acts that often go unnoticed. The song oscillates between dreamy calm and bursts of musical tension, blurring the line between beauty and disarray.

The TiLT EP features not only “Cherish You” but also the highly anticipated release of “Everything Will Change,” a track originally from the film Next Exit, scored by Danny Elfman. With its somber lyrics and droning toms, “Everything Will Change” reflects on life’s unpredictability, delivering a haunting, introspective ballad that stands as a thematic cornerstone of the EP: “Don’t know where it starts / Don’t know where it ends / If we can go there and back again.”

TiLT promises to showcase Model Child’s boundary-pushing sound, with contributions from an eclectic group of collaborators, including Rusty Santos (Panda Bear), Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire), Josh Diamond (Gang Gang Dance), and Jon Nellen (Big Thief). Through its four-track journey, the EP offers a deep dive into experimental sonic terrain while remaining anchored in Parker’s reflective lyricism—an exploration that speaks to his evolution from the punk scene of Washington D.C. to the indie art-rock undercurrents of Los Angeles.

With TiLT, Model Child continues to carve a space for themselves in the intersection of introspection and experimentation, solidifying their place as a rising force in indie and art-rock circles.
