Yukimi Nagano, the iconic voice of Grammy-nominated Little Dragon, steps into the spotlight with her debut solo album, For You, out March 28 via Ninja Tune. Alongside the announcement, Yukimi unveils two captivating singles, “Sad Makeup” and “Winter Is Not Dead,” both showcasing her signature vulnerability and boundless creativity.

“Sad Makeup” delves into the raw emotion of masking sadness, a theme Yukimi describes as trying to suppress feelings that only grow stronger in their restraint. “Winter Is Not Dead” reflects on the Scandinavian winters that shape her, drawing parallels between nature’s quiet growth and her own transformation.

For You is a deeply personal yet universal collection that blends jazz, soul, electronic pop, hip hop, and psychedelia into a cohesive exploration of love, loss, feminine energy, and resilience. Yukimi’s poetic storytelling and radiant vocals shine in what she calls her most “pure” expression yet, aiming to connect listeners in a time of global chaos.

Her journey to For You began with last year’s spellbinding debut single, “Break Me Down,” co-written with Erik Bodin and Lianne La Havas. Its cinematic music video, a tribute to The Seventh Seal, captures Yukimi’s artistic depth and vision.

From Little Dragon’s legendary performances at Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza to collaborations with Gorillaz, Kaytranada, and Mac Miller, Yukimi’s artistry has always been magnetic. Now, with For You, she takes her place as a solo force to be reckoned with.

Stream “Sad Makeup” and “Winter Is Not Dead” now, and pre-save For You. This is Yukimi, unfiltered and unforgettable.
