Portland’s beloved queer duo Glitterfox have announced their long-awaited debut album Decoder, out August 22 via Jealous Butcher Records—and it’s as emotionally rich as it is sonically explosive. Led by longtime musical soulmates Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker (they/them), Decoder is a genre-hopping journey through synth-pop, garage rock, southern Americana, and unfiltered heartache.

Though their 12-year romantic relationship recently ended, their musical bond remains untouchable. “Solange is my voice,” Walker says. And you can hear it on the radiant first single “Wildfires”—a shimmering, aching anthem that captures the reckless euphoria of queer love with an ’80s-inspired pulse and devastating honesty.

Produced by Chris Funk (The Decemberists), Decoder marks a bold evolution for a band that’s always led with vulnerability and authenticity. Glitterfox—who founded Portland’s Glitterfest in 2019 (also their wedding after-party!)—have carved out space for their truth in every chord, growing into themselves while inviting listeners to do the same.

Catch them on their just-announced North American tour this fall. Decoder isn’t just an album—it’s a declaration of freedom, fire, and queer joy.
