    Chilean Killer Punk: Bailarines Muertos – “Sinestesia”

    “Sinestesia”

    My favorite Chilean punk band, Bailarines Muertos (Dead Dancers), have a new killer single out.  These guys, coming from Santiago, have really capture some killer punk.  Combining the Ramones and The Stranglers with this wild South American vibe, this single, “Sinestesia”, gets the award for the punkest piece of vinyl to come out for a while.  Comprised of Sebastián González, Gonzalo Alarcón, Benjamín Soto, and Isaac Meza, these guys know that the best punk is raw, wild, and angry, and these guys are the best.  If you know Spanish, just read these lyrics (oh, the killer synth/guitar fadeout would make Pere Ubu proud).  This is literate, thinking-man’s punk:

    Puedo verlo en mis ojos Caleidoscopio, rayo natural La realidad es un lugar normal Si cierro los ojos siempre hay novedad Y empiezo a girar, voy a explotar CORO: Luces de neón aparecen en tu piel, Auras de color, psicodelia de pulsión Formas de ficción con los ojos puedo ver Ruidos de color aromas de pasión Séptimo arte, rompe el umbral Des Enfocado yo puedo ver más Discos sin órbita comparten la señal Textura de lino, erotismo ondular Puente: Hay algo dentro de mí que puede ser encontrado, que va a ser encontrado
