Celtic Nordic Forest Music: Parabola West – “Calling Your Name”

    Parabola West

    “Calling Your Name”

American born, New Zealand-base Amy Tucker West has pulled off the amazing trick of combining Nordic and Celtic traditions with the lush electronica of Enya without sounding old or rehash.  A combination of Eivur and CHVRCHES, Parabola West truly sounds like music Elves would listen to.  New Zealand’s scenery seems to embue her musics with a true mysticism that so many aim for but rarely achieve.  Maybe this is the music of Artemis, wild, furious, enticing, but almost isolation and hands-off, unless invited.  Parabola West has invited us into her world.  Our only response is to obey.
