LEYA Announces New Album ‘I Forget Everything’ with Hypnotic Single “Corners”

LEYA, the New York-based avant-pop duo of Marilu Donovan and Adam Markiewicz, returns with I Forget Everything, their first studio project since 2022’s Eyelinemixtape and their first solo release since 2020’s breakout album Flood Dream. Slated for a November 22 release via NNA Tapes, the album marks a pivotal moment for the group, exploring themes of identity loss and disassociation while signaling both a return to their roots and a bold, forward step into uncharted territory.

Emerging from the depths of the NYC underground and crossing over into fashion, art, and even Pornhub’s cultural spaces, LEYA’s sound has always resisted easy categorization. I Forget Everything is born from this eclectic trajectory, following years of relentless touring and collaborations with filmmakers, choreographers, and fashion houses. Their sound, which has proven adaptable across contexts, now blooms into a deeper, introspective phase—both familiar and intriguingly new.

With today’s release of “Corners”, the album’s first single and a self-directed video collaboration with videographer wally, LEYA offers a taste of their refined approach. The track unfurls with cascading harp melodies and hazy string arrangements, blending their signature rawness with newfound grandiosity. Subtle production elements bubble beneath the surface, allowing Markiewicz’s vocals to take center stage, delivering a poignant tale of toxic love. Floating choral harmonies stretch across orchestral tones, gradually dissolving into a cavernous harp outro—a sonic exploration that captures LEYA’s shift into a more expansive sound palette.

With I Forget Everything, LEYA embraces the tension between simplicity and experimentation, making it clear that their sound isn’t just evolving—it’s transforming. Fans of their previous work will find comfort in the duo’s familiar textures, yet there’s an undeniable sense that LEYA is charting a new path, preparing to shape the future of avant-pop.
