    RAC
    Not Off The RAC

    By Servando Rosario

Remix Artist Collective, or also known as RAC, is an artist partnership group started by Andre Anjos from Portland, OR in 2007. The group has featured members from across the country and is known for producing remixes from an eclectic variety of genres, from Kings of Leon to Two Door Cinema Club. After gaining much attention for producing remixes that were often on DJ playlists over their original counterparts, RAC ventured into fully producing its own music and produced original track “Let Go” featuring MNDR and Kele in the summer of 2013 (Check out the music video for “Let Go” at the bottom of the page ). RAC is currently on their “Strangers Live” Tour, and most recently played the iconic Webster Hall, in New York, on March 25th.

I had the pleasure of representing Audiofuzz that night, and it was a night to remember. The performance was Sold Out, and there was a line down the block as I arrived. Upon entering, (to an already packed venue, despite the mass of people line on line still waiting to get inside), the headliners of the night had just finished setting up, and the floor erupted into a medley of alternative rock to groovy electronic dance tracks. MS MR meshed into Lana Del Ray, all the while looking up from dancing euphoria to find a live woodwind performance on stage. From the lighting, to the energy of the crowd, it was truly an amazing night. The crew and I made our dance station behind the mass of crowd, for the purpose of being able to see fans relish in musical satisfaction (the lack of effort to barrel through a crowd of fans and easy access to the bar may or may not have been a factor). RAC’s remix of Foster the People’s “Houdini” stayed true to its name, as I missed it on my run to quell the beer induced bladder attack. The night ended with Two Door Cinema playing and strobes flashing as I exited Webster, promising to call and hang soon with the new best friends whose names I wouldn’t remember. Popped in my earphones, hailed a cab, and set my playlist to RAC.

RAC will be continuing their “Strangers Tour”, and is set to be performing at Ultra Music Festival in Miami on March 30th.
