    Wet Leather

    “Secret Preference”

What a great video.  I love this band’s talent and sense of humor.  Starting a song out with the from “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, and making a whole video about the funny safe crazies on YouTube, this song is just perfect.  With music that “leans on the tight, focused pop the Talking Heads explored in their later years” neurotic lyrics and vocals that “swap falsetto for a ’65-era Bob Dylan deadpan squeal”(VILLAGE VOICE), Wet Leather is cerebral but aims squarely for the gut. SECRET PREFERENCE, their new video and single, owes a musical debt to the over-sexed 80’s, but flips the conceptual script with its voyeuristic clip.  Made up of Barry, Dema, Dylan, Jason,  and Matt, their mantra is “Never where leather; never get wet”.  I love this band (oh, I said that).  Well, I love this band.
