French dream-pop visionary Melody’s Echo Chamber (aka Melody Prochet) makes a radiant return with her new single “Daisy,” a dazzling collaboration with El Michels Affair, the genre-blurring project of Grammy-winning producer Leon Michels. Out now via Welfare Sounds & Records, “Daisy” is a sparkling, kaleidoscopic track that floats between worlds—part psych-pop fantasia, part soul-inflected daydream.
Built on fluid guitar fills, shimmery synths, and shifting key changes, “Daisy” feels simultaneously timeless and freshly conjured. Melody’s gossamer vocals glide over Michels’ textured production, creating a soundscape that’s melancholic yet luminous, steeped in reverie. The result is a track that lingers long after the last note, as if plucked straight from an imagined dream.
Prochet describes the single as “a daydream while listening to Leon’s finest music… we instantly created this sweet overlapping zone—like an invisible playground between our worlds.” That synergy is palpable, and with Jens Jungkurth (Clairo, Kali Uchis, Olivia Dean) on the mix, the track glows with warmth and clarity.
The collaboration arrives as both artists continue their creative momentum: Michels with his recent LP 24 Hr Sports and Prochet following a string of acclaimed albums (Bon Voyage, Emotional Eternal, and her seminal 2012 self-titled debut). It also builds on her recent artistic resurgence, including a lauded 2022 tour and collaborations with psychedelic outfit Crumb.
“Daisy” is more than a single—it’s a shimmering reminder of Prochet’s gift for turning introspection into cinematic pop and Michels’ knack for bringing unexpected textures to life. It feels like the start of something magical.
