Two HNAF albums this week! We LOVE Alison Goldfrapp’s new album so much that we had to add a second. Check it out below!
Synth-pop trailblazer Alison Goldfrapp releases her second solo album Flux today via her own label, A.G. Records. Building on 2023’s acclaimed The Love Invention, Flux pairs luminous pop hooks with some of Alison’s most vulnerable songwriting yet—marking a high point in her ever-evolving artistry.
The record glides through a kaleidoscope of moods: the euphoric, escapist shimmer of “Find Xanadu”, the dreamlike pulse of “Reverberotic”, the cosmic glow of “Sound & Light” (inspired by her wish to witness the Northern Lights), and “Hey Hi Hello”, a bittersweet reflection on love and renewal. Elsewhere, she floats through ethereal soundscapes (“Strange Things Happen”), ascends to euphoric heights (“UltraSky”), and channels ‘80s nostalgia with aching beauty (“Cinnamon Light”). The house-inspired “Play It (Shine Like A Nova Star)” delivers catharsis through shimmering synths and a declaration to embrace transformation without fear.
Co-produced with Stefan Storm (Sound of Arrows), Richard X, and James Greenwood (Ghost Culture), Flux proves Alison’s skill as both a pop visionary and label head. Her career includes multi-platinum Goldfrapp albums, iconic Glastonbury sets, Brit and Grammy nominations, an Ivor Novello win for Strict Machine, and collaborations with Röyksopp and Purple Disco Machine. Most recently, she completed a sold-out UK tour and joined Scissor Sisters as a special guest on their 2025 arena tour.
With Flux, Alison reaffirms her status as a pioneering pop auteur—embracing independence, creative freedom, and an ever-curious sonic spirit.
