New Dance: Moonfall – “Lost”

Moonfall

“Lost”

Empty Cage

What a great, kick-ass song.  “Lost” sounds like a cross between Kim Wilde and Echo Black.  This sounds like the beginnings of a New Wave revival, which I think is needed.  Moonfall has the chops, the looks, the beat (if I were younger, this is what I would dance to; if I did it now, I’d break a hip ((to hell with the hip:  LET’S DANCE)).  According to their bio:

Music is “the universal language of mankind,” as told by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. If that is so, you can add it to the list of languages the members of New York-based Moonfall speak fluently. Matthew Howl (vocals/guitar) aligned with Mei Moor (bass), shortly before coming together with Andrew Chow (drums). This trio of best friends quickly set out to spread their message. Dynamic and texturally creative, they aspire to turn stages everywhere into their proving grounds.

I love that, and to quote Longfellow is very nervy in a society that doesn’t want you to think.  This is thinking-man’s dance music.  I’m in love.
