Alison Goldfrapp returns with “Hey Hi Hello”, a luminous and emotionally charged opener from her upcoming solo album Flux, arriving August 15 via her newly minted label, A.G. Records.
Bathed in glistening synths and bittersweet nostalgia, “Hey Hi Hello” sets the tone for Flux with an aching sincerity that lingers like a half-remembered dream. From its first hazy notes, the track captures the delicate tension of love lost but not quite gone. “We don’t make sense now,” Alison sings with disarming clarity before the track blooms into a euphoric crescendo—her voice soaring with the haunting refrain, “I never wanted to let you go.”
Produced alongside Stefan Storm (Sound of Arrows) and longtime collaborator Richard X, the song balances retro Euro-disco flair with contemporary elegance. “There’s a simplicity to it I really love,” Alison shares. “It’s melodic, uplifting—and still tinged with melancholy.”
“Hey Hi Hello” follows a dazzling string of singles that preview Flux: the dreamy escapism of “Find Xanadu”, the surreal pulse of “Reverberotic”, and the glacial glow of “Sound & Light”, a track inspired by Alison’s childhood obsession with the Northern Lights.
Flux marks a new era for Goldfrapp—artistically fearless and independently driven. With A.G. Records, she fully steps into her role as visionary, curator, and creator of a technicolor sonic universe.
Over the years, Alison has defined herself as one of pop’s most innovative auteurs. From the chart-topping success of Goldfrapp, to Grammy and Brit nominations, to unforgettable festival sets and industry accolades like the Ivor Novello for “Strict Machine”, her legacy is both critically revered and commercially celebrated. Her solo debut The Love Invention in 2023 cemented her solo voice—a kaleidoscope of euphoric, high-concept synth-pop.
Recent collaborations with Purple Disco Machine (“Dream Machine”) and Röyksopp (“Impossible,” “Find Xanadu” remix) have only expanded her reach and relevance.
Having stunned crowds at Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and during her sold-out 2024 UK headline tour, Alison Goldfrapp continues to prove why she’s one of music’s most magnetic live performers. In 2025, she joins Scissor Sisters on their highly anticipated arena tour.
With Flux, Alison Goldfrapp doesn’t just return—she reinvents. Brimming with infectious hooks and raw, emotional depth, this new album is both a celebration of sonic freedom and a bold leap into the unknown.
Stay tuned. More surprises await.
