Holy Wave Channels West Coast Magic on “Father’s Prayer”

Holy Wave is back with a sun-soaked shimmer and a soulful nod to their roots. The Austin psych-rock mainstays announce their new EP, Studio 22 Singles and B-Sides, dropping this Friday, 4/25 via Suicide Squeeze Records. Tracked at the legendary Studio 22 in Los Angeles after their post-lockdown tour, the record captures the warmth and reflection that followed their return to the studio.
Today, the band unveils the single “Father’s Prayer” via PASTE Magazine — a breezy, heartfelt tune dripping in vintage West Coast vibes. Think Beach Boys harmonies tangled with Beatles-era sentimentality, all tied together by a hopeful electric piano line and Kyle Hager’s honeyed vocals: “We’ll keep singing to the moonlight… until the morning starts to rise.”
Hager calls it a tribute to his parents and the outdoorsy, music-filled childhood that shaped him. “It’s a reminder,” he says, “to see life as an adventure — something beautiful, messy, and full of meaning — and to live it with honesty and love.”
This is Holy Wave at their most sincere and glowing. Want a preview of what healing and harmony sound like? Press play.
