Lionlimb Drops Dreamy Single “Dream of You” Featuring Angel Olsen from Upcoming Album ‘Limbo’
Lionlimb, the creative endeavor of New York-based singer, songwriter, and producer Stewart Bronaugh, has launched a new single titled “Dream of You,” featuring Angel Olsen. This track is from their upcoming album, Limbo, set to release on May 24th under Bayonet Records. Bronaugh shares that “Dream of You,” inspired by his late dog, evokes the poignant emotions of his dreams where his pet felt vividly alive. “Though the song might not convey it, experiencing those dreams was incredibly joyful,” he explains.
Angel Olsen, a long-time admirer of Lionlimb and a former tour and recording collaborator, adds her distinctive touch to the single. “I knew it would be vibey and beautiful,” Olsen comments, noting her aim to blend seamlessly with the song’s dreamy essence and the overarching narrative of Limbo.
“Dream of You” sets the tone for the album Limbo, delving into universal themes of romance, longing, and loss, with Bronaugh channeling his personal experiences into evocative love songs. The track features a blend of psychedelic instruments that paint expansive, nature-inspired vistas, reflecting the intensity of overpowering emotions.
The album itself, Limbo, showcases Bronaugh’s profound sense of escapism intertwined with his reflections on the past. Drawing influence from ’70s Italian film soundtracks, ’60s girl group tunes, and soulful ballads, Bronaugh melds these elements into enigmatic yet nostalgic soundscapes. His longtime collaborator Joshua Jaeger contributes with live drums, adding raw energy to the intricately layered production.
Limbo represents the zenith of Bronaugh’s extensive production skills, with most of the project being self-composed, produced, and mixed, supplemented by additional recordings from Robin Eaton. A native of Nashville, Bronaugh’s musical journey began in his youth and flourished in college where he met Jaeger. Together, they launched Lionlimb, releasing albums and touring internationally, including performances with Angel Olsen. Bronaugh continues to explore and innovate within music production, cherishing the unpredictable beauty of creative accidents.
