After a 15-year pause, Stereolab are back with a dazzling new album, Instant Holograms on Metal Film, now streaming everywhere. The record reunites core duo Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane with the band’s touring members and features collaborations with Cooper Crain (Bitchin Bajas), Ben LaMar Gay, and more.

“We approached it like beginners,” says Gane. “No rehearsals, no roadmap—just feeling our way through the adventure of making music.” Sadier, who had a larger compositional role than ever before, adds: “This album is part of a continuum, an evolving sound fed by our growth as artists.”

To mark the release, Stereolab are hosting global listening events today with exclusive merch giveaways, including limited-edition pins, art prints, and logo stickers.

Co-released via Duophonic UHF Disks and Warp Records, the 13-track album leans into Stereolab’s experimental spirit while delivering sharp commentary. “As the world unravels,” Sadier reflects, “we’re already shaping what comes next. Imagination is our greatest tool—we’re all creators of the future.”

Instant Holograms on Metal Film isn’t just a comeback—it’s a radiant expansion of Stereolab’s legacy. Listen below:
